About

We are a dedicated MEP engineering team delivering innovative, sustainable, and cost-effective solutions for projects across multiple market sectors.

Terrell Engineering Consultants designs mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems with people at the center of every decision. We believe the best engineering supports those who use, operate, and rely on buildings every day — from occupants and maintenance teams to building owners. Our approach blends thoughtful collaboration, technical excellence, and practical problem-solving to deliver systems that are safe, dependable, and efficient, creating environments that work better for everyone involved.

Our Goal

At Terrell Engineering Consultants, our goal is to provide safe, reliable, and efficient MEP systems that create value for our clients and the communities they serve, all while providing unmatched client experience.

Our Philosophy

We understand that MEP systems are not siloed, but play an integral part to the overall “feel” of the space. So we take an holistic approach to designing building systems, emphasizing long-term efficiency, maintainability, adaptability, and aesthetic — ensuring that every system contributes meaningfully to the overall project success.

Key Principles

Safety

Your project deserves more than minimum standards. We design with safety as our top priority, going beyond code when reliability, mission-critical operations, or long-term performance demand it. Protecting life and property is non-negotiable.

Quality

Every drawing, document, and deliverable reflects our commitment to precision and consistency. We follow rigorous standards and review processes so you can trust that what we deliver is accurate, reliable, and ready for construction.

Courtesy

We believe great engineering starts with great relationships. That means clear communication, same-day responses, and a collaborative approach. Our team is committed to respect, integrity, and making every interaction positive and productive.

Efficiency

We keep projects moving by providing the right information at the right time. Through smart planning and streamlined workflows, we reduce rework and save time — without ever sacrificing safety or quality.

History

We started in 2014 as Terrell Engineering—a small MEP firm with one employee, Jerry Terrell. Early on, we shared space with a two-person architecture firm, and that partnership eventually grew into a merger in 2018. Jerry Terrell became the President and managing partner of the new firm.

The combined setup gave everyone a chance to explore how architects and engineers could collaborate under one roof. We learned a lot from those interactions, and the company grew from a small three-person firm to fifteen employees in a span of seven years.

As the company grew, the engineering side started moving fast, becoming licensed in nearly thirty states and handling a rapidly increasing workload. Over time, it became clear that company was heading in two distinct directions. Rather than forcing two approaches together, we chose to separate into two independent firms, each providing their specialized services. Terrell Engineering Consultants was (re)formed to focus solely on MEP engineering services.
